Shooter is seen fleeing from scene after hitting victim in broad daylight

A GUNMAN was filmed running to a getaway car after a horror shooting last night.

His victim was believed to have suffered serious wounds in the broad daylight attack in Glasgow’s Milton.

A MAN has suffered serious injuries in a broad daylight shooting – with the brazen gunman spotted by witnesses jogging to a getaway car after carrying out the attack.

He was seen getting into a white hatchback with what looked like a rifle in his left hand.

The horror attack happened in Westray Street in Glasgow’s Milton.

The victim was named locally as John McGregor.

His exact condition was not known last night and police refused to confirm local rumours that he had died from his injuries.

Footage of a bald man fleeing the scene was circulatin­g on video-sharing platform WhatsApp last night.

The shooting happened at about 8pm.

The person who made the video was heard saying: “Here troops, look at this. He’s shooting ***** .”

A huge emergency services presence was reported on Westray Street last night.

At least four police vehicles and an ambulance could be seen in pictures posted on social media.

A resident who lives close to the scene said: “The whole place has been sealed off and the helicopter has been out.”

According to local reports, police cordoned off the street from the entrance at Berneray Street along to nearby shops.

Officers confirmed that they were in attendance after a man was found seriously injured.

A Police Scotland spokespers­on said: “Emergency services are currently in attendance on Westray Street, Glasgow following the report of a man being found seriously injured.

“Inquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstan­ces surroundin­g the incident.”
