RONALDO SET FOR CITY AND PSG REMATCH

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

MANCHESTER CITY were last night in talks with Cristiano Ronaldo over an incredible return to the Premier League.

And he could be heading straight into a sensational Champions League clash with Lionel Messi.

City are seriously exploring the possibility of signing Ronaldo if they can agree a deal with Juventus.

The 36-year-old has just 10 months left on his contract and the Serie A side want £25million.

Juventus have suggested a swap deal involving Gabriel Jesus but this has been rejected by City boss Pep Guardiola, who does not want to lose the striker.

Raheem Sterling has also been touted as part of any deal and the forward was mentioned in relation to City’s bid to prise his England team-mate Harry Kane from Tottenham.

Agent Jorge Mendes was in Turin yesterday talking to Juve about getting Ronaldo out of the club.

While City are not prepared to pay £25m, his wage demands will be less of a problem and City are willing to spend £242,000 a week. He dismissed talk of joining City eight years ago and said: “To play for City, not United? I’m not going to do that. Why? Because my heart’s in Manchester United.”

Guardiola’s side dumped Paris St-Germain out of last season’s Champions League in the semi-finals and have been reunited in the groups for this one.

Holders Chelsea got Juve, Liverpool face Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are reunited with Villarreal after losing their Europa League Final clash.
