RANGERS

ROBBY McCRORIE 6 Massive night on competitive debut but mostly dealt with passbacks confidently. One decent save. NATHAN PATTERSON 6 Another chance to stake a claim for more regular starting slot and got forward with usual vigour. Had to be careful not to leave gaps in behind. CONNOR GOLDSON 6 Didn’t have too many concerns, although had to be careful after 26th-minute booking. Defender could have scored early on. FILIP HELANDER 7 Got nod ahead of Leon Balogun and did brilliantly to cut out dangerous early counter-attack. Played well. BORNA BARISIC 6 Had a point to prove after being displaced by Calvin Bassey. Wasn’t shy in getting forward to deliver balls into the box but still looked rusty. SCOTT ARFIELD 6 Experienced midfielder offered good protection to Patterson. Great pass for Morelos’ missed chance but not as influential after the break. STEVEN DAVIS 7 Dictated tempo in sweltering heat. Saw plenty of the ball and use of it was sensible in conditions. Another classy contribution. GLEN KAMARA 7 Kept ball ticking over while doing defensive work diligently when needed. One of the brighter performances on the night. IANIS HAGI 6 Asked initially to play off Morelos on the left before switching. Replaced by Itten just after the hour. ALFREDO MORELOS 4 Euro specialist missed three great chances. Looked sluggish and disinterested. Poor performance. JOE ARIBO 7 Started on right of attacking trio then drifted across frontline. Plenty of good touches and great control. Unlucky with shots off post and bar.

SUBS CEDRIC ITTEN 3 Got last half hour for Hagi and looked livelier than some of his pals. Not used: Hogarth, Balogun, Kelly, McClelland, Lowry, McKinnon, Lyall. ALASHKERT: Cancarevic, Kryuchkov, Voskanyan, Coelho Andrade, Boljevic, Grigoryan (Gome 75), Hovsepyan (Bezecourt 45), Khurtsidze (Fofana 88), Embalo (Aghekyan 88), Glisic, James. REF: T Stieler (Germany).
