We’ll be angsty if we don’t get nasty

- BY FRASER WILSON

WORRIED Craig Sibbald warned Livingston they need to rediscover their nasty side before it’s too late.

The Lions are rock bottom of the table with zero points after falling apart in the second half against Hibs.

It was a tough day at the office for David Martindale and his players, who were already without Scott Pittman before losing Bruce Anderson on the stroke of half-time when the striker suffered a diabetic fit on the pitch and was rushed to hospital.

Jack Fitzwater then had to come off after being sick at half-time.

And Sibbald was thrust in from the start despite struggling with a hip knock after on-loan Rangers kid Ben Williamson was pulled out on the advice of Ibrox doctors on Friday night.

Livi don’t have their troubles to seek and the 2-0 defeat to Hibs just added to a tough week.

But Sibbald made no excuses as he said: “It’s disappointing. These were slack goals to concede, where we let boys get inside us again. It has happened over the last couple of games, and we’ve been punished again for it.

“We did quite well in the first half but then we go out in the second half and we chuck it all away.

“If you give Nisbet and Boyle space, it’s easy for them. We need to get tighter to players and do the nasty stuff better, and it needs to happen quick.

“We need to get nastier and more street-wise. We need to get see out games better, even if it is 0-0, to get points on the board and get our season going.”

Martindale refuses to hit the panic button and said he knew “for a fact” his side wouldn’t be relegated.

And Sibbald backed his boss, saying: “I’m sure we will turn it around and things will look up soon.”
