It’s been 11 years Edward.. let us know you are ok Appeal as missing man turns 50
THE family of a man who vanished more than a decade ago have begged him to make contact on his 50th birthday.
Photography student Edward Dallas was last seen on March 2, 2010, when he left his mum and dad’s house and withdrew cash in Paisley before vanishing.
The then 38-year-old had an interest in Buddhism and his family believed he may have started a new life at a religious retreat.
But despite numerous appeals, false sightings and searches, Edward, of Linwood, Renfrewshire, has never been traced.
Appealing to Edward on his special birthday today, his Aunt Grace said: “Please get in touch with us, it’s been 11 years. We miss you and love you. Please get in touch with me, the Missing People charity or anyone.
“We want to know where you are and that you’re safe and well, but it would be nice to know anything at all.”
Edward, who was a student at Paisley’s Reid Kerr College, is 5ft 8in with blue eyes. He had black, cropped, balding hair, a stocky build, facial hair and two of his front teeth were capped, with one of his bottom teeth possibly missing.
His mum Betty died after a number of years of searching for her son.
Edward took up Buddhism in his early 30s and had visited retreats before he disappeared.
He was previously thought to have been spotted on CCTV in Birmingham but police were unable to trace him.
Last year, Edward’s brother Stuart told how he searches online for any information.
Stuart said: “We know he visited a Buddhist monastery in Lockerbie. We’ve contacted them numerous times over the years with no luck.
“There was also a grainy image from a shopping centre in Birmingham about two years after he left but that didn’t come to anything either. We just wish he’d contact us.
“We just need to know what happened to him.”
The Missing People charity urged Edward to make contact by calling or texting 116 000 or emailing 116000@missingpeople. org.uk.
