THE glow from Scotland’s superb win in Austria has started to fade and it’s domestic football back in the spotlight.

It has been a fortnight since Rangers won the first Old Firm game of the season and the title rivals are ready to get back to business, along with the punters returning to the hostilitie­s.

First up, Gers fan Chris Lowe, Yoker, said: “Gordon Strachan, the Dundee technical director, recommende­d Leigh Griffiths was a good fit for Dundee.

“Gordon Strachan, the consultant to Celtic who recommende­d Leigh Griffiths should be released.

“Whatever happened to sporting integrity? Did it get lost in the spam folder?”

Gordon Ashley, Ayr, said: “Rangers think they have had good form in the last few Europa Leagues but all they have had is luck. Once again they have avoided teams from the big four leagues while Celtic draw two. And now even the top seeds in their group will be forced to play a vastly-weakened team. The truth is they have beaten nobody.”

Scott Gowers, Edinburgh, said: “Ex-SFA chief Roger Mitchell claims Rangers should be deducted points next season if fan behaviour doesn’t improve. I agree some fans are out of order, which you get at every club. But I didn’t hear Mitchell referring to some Celtic fans’ behaviour.

“Does Scotland really want to be represente­d in Europe by a club who have been fined by UEFA more than any other club in the country for fan behaviour?”

Some players won’t be checking back in at Scottish clubs following the transfer window closing.
