Britney on cloud nine

She posts aircraft flying video after court frees her from dad’s control

BRITNEY Spears said she was “on cloud nine” after she was released from her father’s financial control.

The singer posted an Instagram video of her taking over a plane’s controls while the pilot gave her instructions. She captioned it: “On cloud 9 right now !!!! First time flying a plane and first time in a prop plane!!!” While she didn’t refer to the Los Angeles case that suspended dad Jamie as her conservator, many fans assumed it was a reference to the hearing. Wednesday’s ruling came three months after the 39-year-old mum of two first publicly pleaded for her father to be removed, alleging he had been abusive and saying: “He loved the control to hurt his own daughter.” Jamie, 69, was given control of her £45million estate in 2008 while she faced apparent mental health struggles. But in court this week, her attorney Mathew Rosengart said it would be a “disaster” for him to remain in her life. And he claimed corruption could be responsible for millions allegedly missing from her fortune. Mr Spears and his team now have to hand financial records to a replacement conservator temporarily taking over. Rosengart suggested in court the files could contain “revelations” of his “corruption”, noting Mr Spears had “reaped millions” from his daughter’s estate. He alleged he had been aggressively objecting to suspension so he could “avoid accountability and justice”. And he went on: “I believe in those files we will find evidence of his corruption – and worse.” As he left the court, he appeared to suggest Mr Spears could face criminal charges and said Britney would sue her father if money had been misappropriated. During her court battle, Britney alleged her father paid himself more per month than she was given as an allowance. Yesterday Mr Spears expressed disappointment at the outcome of the case, detailing the “tremendous amount of daily worry and work” he says he went through over the past 13 years. A statement issued by his lawyer went on: “He loves his daughter unconditionally.” Mr Spears also faces questions about a recent US documentary which claimed he hired a security firm to carry out surveillance of his daughter’s phone and record conversations in her bedroom. However, he claims he acted within the law and with the consent of his daughter and her court-appointed lawyers.
