KYM: I HAVE HAD TO TAKE A STEP BACK

Kym marsh has revealed why she’s been absent from the morning Live sofa since July – she’s been looking after her cancerstricken dad and battling her own mental health issues.
Now her break from work will be extended, while her wedding to army major Scott Ratcliff, 32, has been moved forward so dad Dave can make the big day.
In a frank film for viewers the TV presenter admitted she'd had to “step back” from her job on the daily BBC1 show in order to focus on helping her mum and dad deal with his prostate cancer diagnosis, which came in March.
Kym, 45, said: “I've been off the last few weeks because I want to be here for my dad, I need to support my family. I wanted to be there, to spend time with them and help them come to terms with everything and get through one of the most difficult times in their lives.
“It was absolutely the right decision.” On her wedding plans, the former
Coronation Street star added: “I was blown away when my partner Scott pulled out a ring on my birthday. We were planning to get married next year but with dad's cancer diagnosis, and realising how bad things were, it made us want to bring everything forward so that dad gets to walk me down the aisle.”
Earlier in the year she underwent a double hernia operation herself, which had complications, plus the whole family then suffered from Covid.
She explained: “I have suffered with anxiety attacks in the past and they have come back with a vengeance.
“Life's been pretty difficult for me, trying to support my family.”
