Jurgen admits free-scoring Reds are still missing out
JURGEN KLOPP has warned Manchester City that Liverpool’s goal blitz has not even come close to showing what they are capable of.
The rampant Reds scored a remarkable 20 goals in September to sit proudly on top of the Premier League and top scorers in this season’s Champions League.
But Anfield boss Klopp believes there is even more to come from his side – admitting they have missed far more chances than they have taken.
The German gaffer said: “To be honest when people said we scored 20 goals in

September it didn’t feel like it. I have a lot of chances on my mind – and I’m really positive – that we missed.
“It is not about that I want to score 40 goals or whatever, it is just we are not even close to what we think it should exactly look like.
“We scored a lot of goals, that is true, but we missed a lot of chances in that period.
“We are in a good moment but that’s what we have to be to have a chance against them.”
Liverpool are the last remaining unbeaten team in the top flight, but Klopp is adamant they’re not yet back to the supreme best which saw them win the title in 2020.
But he thinks they are getting closer – and hopes City will experience that return to their awesome pace and power.
He added: “Last season we had to play midfielders in the last lines, and all of a sudden nothing was the same,.
“We changed some things as well, and are much closer to what we did before than last year. It means we have stability, and then you have freedom for the offensive stuff – and you can score more often.”
Klopp, meanwhile, insists his managerial rivalry with City chief Pep Guardiola is different from most – because he likes the Spaniard, even if he knows he makes him angry at times.
He said: “It’s true, I like him and I respect him.
“I annoy him with things I say. They are not meant to say anything bad about him or Man City, but somebody tells him that, ‘Klopp said this’, and I can see in his conference he gets really angry. Sorry for that.”
