This cute Alexa-powered robot will be your new best friend but it’s far from cheap

AMAZON has just revealed its most ambitious gadget yet – a robot for your home.

Astro has been designed to whizz around your house, watch out for burglars, and bring the best Alexa features as you move between rooms.

This diddy device has wheels to propel itself around your home, a tablet-style face that can rotate to follow your voice, a drinks holder to bring you coffee to the sofa… and everything is powered by Alexa, the chatty AI found in the Amazon Echo.

There’s even a camera that can extend out of Astro’s head to beam live footage straight to your smartphone.

It also comes packed with sensors that can listen out for strange noises or spot intruders – just like a digital guard dog.

Now, before you get too excited about Astro becoming part of the family, Amazon is only releasing a limited number this year and they won’t be cheap.

Astro will set you back a rather hefty £999.

ALONG with that Astro robot, Amazon is also launching a new smart screen.

The Echo Show 15 can be stuck to the wall with the week’s diary, news and weather reports all displayed in full HD quality.

You can even turn it into a smart telly with content from services such as Amazon Prime video beamed into the room.

Like all of Amazon’s devices, it’s powered by Alexa so you can shout orders with the clever assistant giving an instant response.

It’s out soon and costs £239.

VIDEO doorbells aren’t new but Amazon is trying to shake up this market with the release of a much more affordable option.

The online retailer has just announced its new Blink Video Doorbell which can be screwed to the front of your home for just £49.99.

Just like its rivals, the Blink sends instant alerts to your smartphone when it spots something or someone.

It features 1080p HD video recording for pin-sharp playback and there’s even infrared night vision for when the sun goes down.
