Fury’s on the deck

Heavyweight king turns nightclub DJ in Vegas after nailbiting £18m title fight

- BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN

TYSON Fury celebrated his world heavyweight title success early yesterday with a stint as a club DJ, telling revellers: “Let’s have it.”

The Gypsy King headed to a party at the Hakkasan after beating Bronze Bomber Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas.

Joining US DJ Steve Aoki on the decks, the shirtless 19st 11lb fighter grabbed the mic and egged on clubbers.

Fury yelled: “Are you ready to f***ing party?” He then roared: “There were three Bronze Bombers in the air and the Gypsy King from England shot one down.”

He clutched a bottle of beer as he sang We are the Champions with his team. The fighter, 33, then went on to sing Don McLean’s American Pie – as he did in the ring after beating Wilder in February last year – and got the whole club singing with him.

Wife Paris, 31, partied with the undefeated WBC champion in Sin City after he earned a reported £18million for his knockout defeat of the American. It was his third bout with Wilder.

She uploaded clips of Fury on stage, dancing and entertaining the crowd at the club in the MGM Grand Hotel.

His 11-round fight was described as one of the greatest and most gruelling in boxing history.

The British star twice picked himself off the canvas and put 35-year-old Wilder down three times.

After the fight, Fury performed his trademark post-bout song at the T-Mobile Arena – his own version of American singer Marc Cohn’s 1991 hit Walking in Memphis.

Fury’s a cappella version slightly differed from the original, as he changed the lyrics to Walking in Vegas – sending the crowd into raptures as they joined in.

He said “thank you very much”, adding: “Vegas, I love you baby”. In a nod to his hometown of Morecambe, where he once lived in a caravan, he then sang: “Lancashire, la, la la.”

During the fight, he sat on a stool which bore Wilder’s face with the words Big Dosser written on it. After the bout, his rival refused to accept his defeat and congratulate Fury, who had extended his hand to him in an act of sportsmanship, only to be rejected. Fury said: “I said ‘well done, mate’ and he said ‘I don’t want to show any sportsmanship or respect’. “I said ‘No problem.’ I was very surprised. Sore loser. Idiot.” Wilder was taken to hospital for checks after the fight. Despite Anthony Joshua’s loss last month to Oleksandr Usyk, fight fans are still desperate to see the two Britons fight. Before the Olympic gold medallist’s loss, Fury admitted he was rooting for Joshua. But his defeat meant a £75million payday went “down the toilet”, according to the Gypsy King. In March, it emerged Joshua had become Britain’s first £100million boxer.
