Shoot for the Moon

-

NEW MOON 0 to 3.5 days after the new Moon

Time for: New beginnings. Around the new Moon, check in with your feelings, hunches and don’t ignore your intuition, which is emphasised during this lunar phase.

This is the perfect time to launch new projects or follow up on a dream. Traditionally, spells for new beginnings are cast during a new Moon. But you don’t need to be a witch to work with this phase. First, write three things you need to make your goal a reality.

It may be as simple as making a phone call, sending an email or reaching out to someone who can help.

WAXING CRESCENT MOON

3.5 to 7 days after the new Moon Time for: Overcoming stress. You may feel unsettled during this Moon phase, so now is the time to acknowledge problems and any feelings of stress.

Children can grow restless at this time too. You may experience blocks with writing projects and research or feel impatient. Keep circling back to the projects and goals that are important to you.

Consider different options and approaches. Ride it out – try and use this lunar energy to experiment and generate new ideas to use on old issues.

FIRST QUARTER

7 to 10.5 days after the new Moon

Time for: Problem solving.

This Moon phase sometimes creates an argumentative energy.

These conflicts may be with others or even yourself. The challenge is to see both sides. Then, find a third alternative that works for you, and push ahead.

Try to put this difficult energy to good use. Tackle a person or problem that needs extra bravery, or engage in a physical activity, giving it your all to discover a personal best.

WAXING GIBBOUS MOON 10.5 to 14 days after the new Moon Time for: Seeing clearly.

The Moon’s energy swells, and you may feel overwhelmed. Go with the flow and don’t just focus on one thing.

Work will be more productive if you take a break. It’s a good time to seek a second opinion.

The Moon’s boost in energy will help you see things more clearly. You may also find a solution that can help to shed light on a longstanding issue.

FULL MOON

14 to 17.5 days after the new Moon Time for: Harmony.

A period of high tides, the full Moon is a time of celebration and completion. It’s a good time to through the lunar cycle, and you should be able to see what’s working for you and what’s not.

This could relate to the project you set in motion in the new Moon or longstanding habits or goals.

Be prepared to make changes and learn from discomfort.

It’s a good time to take a test or notice you are being tested.

WANING CRESCENT 24.5 to 28 days after the new Moon Time for: Quiet reflection.

The Moon enters her dark phase and your inner mood quietens down.

Your physical energy may be low, but this calm allows you to see deep within and this quiet time encourages meditation, therapeutic conversation and divination.

Take a moment to look back over the past month and assess your life.

Listen to your dreams, be still, and prepare for the next lunar cycle.
