The OVO Hydro prepares for its biggest year yet with an amazing line-up of gigs including Dua Lipa and Stormzy

IT was one of the first things to go when the pandemic hit, and one of the final things to return - but live music is well and truly back.
Once again, we can gather with friends and family and celebrate our love of live music by attending gigs, singing and dancing along, and having a great time.
And there’s no better place to do it than at the OVO Hydro, Scotland’s premier live entertainment venue.
It’s set to be the biggest and most anticipated year of live music yet, and with OVO Energy as its exciting new partner, the OVO Hydro is preparing to put on some truly show-stopping gigs.
Over the next year, the iconic venue is set to welcome over 1.2 million visitors, having reopened its doors in September after an 18-month break.
There are some unmissable events happening soon, and we’ll also be giving some lucky winners the chance to get their hands on money-can’t-buy prizes and experiences.
With so many of our favourite performers bringing out music during lockdown, the time is finally coming to see them perform again. Grime superstar Stormzy will be taking to the
OVO Hydro stage next year for what promises to be an unforgettable night.
After an electrifying headline set at TRNSMT Festival in 2019, the BRIT awardwinning rapper makes his return to Glasgow in April on his Heavy is the Head album tour.
The seven-time GRAMMY award-winner Billie Eillish will be bringing her muchanticipated Happier Than Ever tour right here to Glasgow in June, after the original dates were postponed.
The 19-year-old has already taken the world by storm and smashed records worldwide, including being the youngest person ever to record a Bond theme - No Time To Die, which was released in cinemas in September.
Pop princess Dua Lipa will also be making a stop at the OVO Hydro on her long-awaited Future Nostalgia tour.
Lockdown certainly didn’t stop her from creating some amazing projects, including a Future Nostalgia remix album and an immersive virtual concert that was streamed worldwide.
Next year will see Irish rock icons The Script perform live to a Glasgow crowd again too, as they celebrate 10 years of topping the charts on their Greatest Hits tour.
With so many more gigs planned for the coming months, there’s something to suit every music fan.
Making music more sustainable
It’s a busy year ahead for the OVO Hydro, as the iconic venue prepares to put on over 40% more events next year than average.
And for good reason - so much of the past year was spent waiting for live music to return.
With the venue now reopened,

As Glasgow prepares to welcome top-class performers from all over the world, it hasn’t forgotten about some of its most talented acts from right here in the city.
The OVO Hydro is excited to be welcoming Scots singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald to the stage in December this year for her first UK headline show in over two years.
With her distinctively raw voice and catchy guitar hooks, her big homecoming show promises to be an amazing night.
And, with support from fellow Scots singer Callum Beattie, it’s set to be a huge celebration of the local Scottish talent we know and love.
