ISLAND IN THE SUN

- GARRY OWEN

FOSTER’SISLAND (1.35) can coast to victory for shrewd Micky Hammond on Coral Raceday at Ayr.

The hurdler clearly relished returning to 2m 5f when hacking up from Channel Packet at Kelso. The gelding looks nicely unexposed so he can strike again under the skilled Emma Smith-Chaston.

AILIE ROSE (12.30) should blossom for Shane Crawford in a competitive novices’ hurdle.

BARNEY STINSON (1.0) can get off the mark for Adam Nicol in the Coral Handicap Hurdle.

The five-year-old showed some creditable form for Mouse Morris as a novice in the Spring.

KALAHARRY (2.10) looks to shade a fascinating novices’ handicap chase for Ewan Whillians. The gelding won’t mind dropping back to 2m 4f after being chinned by Stop Talking at Bangor.

Mike Smith likes a winner at his local track so I’m rowing in with EAST HARLEM (2.45). The gelding put in a career best over timber when third to Farocco over three miles at Perth. The five-year-old looks open to progress as a stayer so he can make a winning handicap debut.

HEARTBREAK KID (3.15) can extend Donald McCain’s tremendous run in the handicap chase. The gelding will be primed after his eye-catching comeback third to Cooper’s Cross at Sedgefield.

DRAGON BONES (1.50) can turn up the heat in the Racing TV Mares’ Hurdle at Kempton. Ian Williams’ horse was a superb second to Bardenstown Lad on her comeback at Cheltenham.

That is strong form so this smart type can deny odds-on jolly My Sister Sarah in this Listed event.

KHAN (2.55) could reign for thriving Milton Harris in the racingtv.com Handicap Hurdle.

The seven-year-old improved again when comfortably defeating Dolphin Square at

Lingfield. The son of Santiago was value for far more than the half-length verdict so he can strike again.

SEE THE SEA (3.25) is all set to complete a four-timer for Team McCain in the conditionals’ hurdle.

The seven-year-old looked better than ever when hammering Glory And Honour at Taunton.

The mare scored with plenty in hand again so she can follow up under old ally Peter Kavanagh.
