Staying calm is Aidan our bid to go up

-

AIDAN CONNOLLY helped Raith scale the summit – only to vow John McGlynn’s men will keep their feet planted on the ground.

Rovers came from behind at Stark’s Park to move level with leaders Kilmarnock on 29 points, albeit second based on a goal of a difference.

McGlynn’s side are now 11 games unbeaten but only two points separate first and fifth in the league.

Connolly, who cancelled out Michael Ledger’s fifthminute opener, said: “You have to keep your feet on the ground, work hard in every game and keep doing your thing. At the end of the season, we’ll see what happens.

“It was a good result, it was a big game. The gaffer said we had to get three points if we want to challenge up there.

“It’s a tight league and a lot of teams will fancy themselves. Every game is difficult, whether you are at the top or bottom. We

played Dunfermline a few weeks ago when they were at the bottom and they were probably the better team, so no game is easy. There are no guaranteed results – you can’t go in thinking you’re going to win because it does not work like that.”

Ethan Ross, who set up Connolly’s goal, buried a sublime finish in the 67th minute for his fourth goal in as many games.

Connolly added: “He’s got real quality and he is quick as well, so teams will be scared.”

Ton tumbled to ninth as boss Gus MacPherson, who saw Alan Lithgow sent off in the 71st minute, said: “There have been encouraging signs all season but at times it’s been frustrating.

“We have a competitive squad but we have young players who are developing and trying to have a career.”
