PAUL’S HITS AND MRS

- BY GARRY OWEN

MRS MILNER (3.0) can grind her rivals down in the Ladbrokes Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury.

Paul Nolan’s mare hammered The Bosses Oscar in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham in March and continued her relentless rise when routing No Memory on her comeback at Limerick. There is plenty more to come from this smart type who can add this Grade 2 to her growing CV.

STAGE STAR (12.10) can stretch his unbeaten record over hurdles to two for Paul Nicholls.

Gary Moore’s NASSALAM (12.40) can bag a hot renewal of the Ladbrokes Novices’ Chase. The four-year-old developed into a rock-solid Grade 1 performer as a novice hurdler last season.

He then showed class and guts to deny Solo on his fencing debut despite hating the track at Ascot and will be much better at this venue so he can shrug off the promotion to Grade 2 level.

The Sussex Maestro can double up with FIFTY BALL (1.50) in the novices’ handicap chase after a fine third to Minella Trump on his fencing bow at Sandown so can put that experience to good use in another strong event.

JONBON (1.15) looks sweet for Nicky Henderson in the fascinating Ladbrokes Maiden

Hurdle. The five-year-old oozed class when downing Flying Demon by four lengths in a bumper here in March and has the scope to really excel over timber so can defeat some exciting rivals.

GAELIK COAST (2.25) can shade the tight Ladbrokes Handicap Chase for in-form Donald McCain.

The seven-year-old hit back with a narrow loss to Whoshotthesheriff on his return at Wetherby and gained due compensation with a convincing defeat of Slanelough at Musselburgh and can shrug off a welldeserved 5lb penalty.

DOLPHIN SQUARE (3.35) looks the best of Philip Hobbs’ powerful team in the threemiler. The seven-year-old made an eye-catching return to hurdles when second to the useful Khan at Lingfield and lurks on an inviting mark in this sphere so can score for his thriving yard.
