KEV’S ON TOUR

Scots funnyman announces new stand-up show for 2022

- BY RICK FULTON

KEVIN Bridges has announced a new tour next year including six nights at the Hydro in Glasgow as he admitted: “A lot has changed in my life”. This could be reference to the comedian and his wife Kerry expecting their first child this year. It also reflects the last two years of the Covid pandemic. Kevin, 35, from Clydebank, hasn’t toured since 2018 but didn’t need to work given how much he raked in for his previous tour. Reports suggested he made more than £7million for his recordbreaking 19 sold-out shows at the Hydro, with his full UK tour making £20million.

The Overdue Catch-Up in 2022 will see Kevin preforming 36 nights across the UK.

Kevin said: “Since we last spoke, a lot has changed in my life and – as we know – in this world of ours but what hasn’t changed is the fact that a crowd of people in a room together having a laugh usually makes for a fairly pleasant evening.

“I’m excited to be back out doing stand-up again and I’m looking forward to seeing you all – and some new people too. Simple as that. I’ll see you up there, down there, over there, anywhere and wherever. Enjoy yer night”.

He will perform in Glasgow on September 9, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 25 next year, followed by a show at Aberdeen’s P&J Arena on October 1. A release says more dates will be added. Tickets for the six Hydro shows will be between £30 and £63. With the Hydro capacity about 13,000 if they sell out, Kevin will rake in over £2.5million for the Glasgow shows.

The Overdue Catch-Up is Kevin’s fifth live stand-up tour.

Kicking off in Liverpool in July, it will run for five months before finishing in London in December.

Tickets for The Overdue Catch-Up go on general sale from 10am on December 3 from www.kevinbridges.co.uk.
