DO I LOOK SLOPPY?

Porteous asks the referee a silly question as he trips Kent to gift Rangers a penalty and vital win

snuffed out the danger. Hibs tried again moments later as Paul McGinn sent Boyle through. This time he got a shot off but McGregor was never ruffled.

Goldson had his name taken by Beaton for a trip on Kevin Nisbet while Jake Doyle-Hayes evened up the caution count after scything into Ianis Hagi.

It was an open, back-andforth affair but neither attack had the key to goal in the opening half hour.

James Tavernier did pick out Joe Aribo and Goldson with a couple of set-pieces but neither could muster a scoring header.

Hagi came closer as his low drive skimmed wide after taking a nick off Josh Doig’s heel.

But Morelos blew a golden chance to put his side ahead a minute before the break.

Glen Kamara sent Aribo scampering down the right flank. The former Charlton ace cut back on to his right foot before picking out the unmarked Colombian but he somehow dragged his header wide when he had half of the goal to aim at.

The first 45 was a slow burner but the second was quicker to heat up.

Borna Barisic had to throw himself in front of Boyle’s strike as a Campbell cross had the away side scrambling inside the opening two minutes, while

Gers winger Ryan Kent shook the stanchion as his 25-yard strike curled wide.

A quick Hibs throw put Joe Newell into the box but Goldson hooked away the cross before Nisbet could tap home.

Sunday at Livi saw snowballs on the pitch. This time it was smoke bombs as both sets of supports lobbed them on to the park.

When the smoke finally cleared, a Porteous block kept out Kent’s rasping effort. The Englishman tried again moments later but was this time foiled by keeper Matt Macey.

Hibs wideman Chris

Cadden drilled into the sidenetting while Aribo did the same as his dancing feet took him into the box. Macey couldn’t hold on to a strike from substitute Arfield but Hibs managed to clear the danger. And just as a stalemate looked on the cards, Porteous lunged in on Kent to leave Beaton with no choice but to point to the spot. The home fans howled with rage but Roofe was the coolest man in Edinburgh as he sent Macey the wrong way to pinch the points.
