Praise good service firms in hard times

-

I WAS interrupted at the gym during my cross-trainer session this morning by a guy who wanted to tell me he really enjoyed the story I wrote a few weeks ago about credit reference agencies and the things you can do to improve your credit rating.

He wanted to let me know he called one of the credit reference agencies because he had read in the piece I wrote that it is possible to “disassociate” yourself from an ex-partner so your credit rating is not affected by any debt or late payments that may be impacting their credit file.

It’s important to do this if you have had joint loans with an ex-partner since he or she could still appear on your credit file and impact any rating in your name.

He wasn’t really sure what he needed to do to get his file updated and had tried to do so online but couldn’t figure his way through it.

So, he called the credit reference agency and wanted to tell me they were helpful and took the time to talk him though the whole process while they were on the phone to him. He’s heard so many horror stories about companies hiding behind Covid as an excuse for poor service over the last year or so and he thought it was great that the credit reference agency he spoke to were the exact opposite and couldn’t have been more helpful. I love to hear these stories. We have become used to companies taking longer to do things now than they have in the past, partly because so many people are working from home and it hasn’t always been easy to adapt, and partly because many companies are finding increased demands for their services and have struggled to get the staff to meet that demand.

So, it’s great to hear that some companies are still making the effort to provide a great customer service.

If you have any examples of a company that you think deserves a mention for good service then please drop me a line at moneydoctor@dailyrecord.co.uk
