-

THE new Kia Sportage will boast a variety of hybrid powertrain options and six wellequipped trims when it arrives in the UK early next year.

With prices ranging from £26,745 up to £43,795, the Korean marque’s family SUV is sure to be popular when the order books open on December 15.

The latest generation has been engineered especially for UK and European roads and all but the base model include some impressive tech and connectivity.

Even then, the entry-level 2 trim includes 17in alloys, front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera, cruise control with speed limiter and auto lights and wipers.

The smartphone-friendly infotainment system includes an eight-inch touchscreen, while safety features include forward collision avoidance and lane keep assist functions.

The GT-Line, costing from £29,745, brings sportier styling, larger alloys, a 12.3in display with navigation, phone app connectivity and suede leather seating among other highlights.

It will also offer mild, full and plug-in hybrid powertrains – the latter providing all-wheeldrive capability – that will feature in other higher-grade models, too.

The 3 (starting at £30,945) adds a 12.3in instrument cluster, heated seats and smart cruise control with stop/go functionality.

The 4 is priced from £36,445 and includes premium touches such as a panoramic sunroof, premium sound system, 360-degree around-view monitor, parking aids as well as a blind-spot collision avoidance set-up.

The flagship GT-Line S starts at £38,445 for a 48-volt mild-hybrid with all-wheel-drive and includes sporty design cues inside and out, with the 261bhp PHEV version the top model.
