Bum rap as ban sees Jim flush plan down loo

- MORTON v AYR UNITED

TEAMSHEET

JOEL NOUBLE and Anton Dowds return for Arbroath against Raith, who hope to have keeper Jamie MacDonald back.

Hamilton Accies pair Shaun Want and Jamie Hamilton are doubts for the visit of Dunfermline who have Rhys Breen back.

Morton’s Brian McLean and Alan Lithgow are out against Ayr who have Aidan McAdams suspended.

Queen of the South have Roberto Nditi and Innes Camerson back against Partick Thistle who are minus Darren Brownlie.

JIM DUFFY has been forced to wipe Ayr’s team lines after Aidan McAdams was hit with a two-game ban for firing a toilet roll back at Kilmarnock fans.

Charlie Albinson is set to deputise with Duffy now having to call on a youth keeper to sit on the bench in Greenock.

Despite the blow, Duffy is still hopeful of getting his side into a winning routine after also booking their place in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup against Albion Rovers last week.

The Ayr boss said: “We managed to get through but there’s still a fair bit of improvement to come.

“We stayed calm when the expectation was on us to win, we didn’t rush it. We were able to deal with the tension which will help us going forward.

“There were some really positive aspects that give us a good bit of optimism and we need to see more of them.

“It’s a really tough period where every game is extremely difficult and Morton will be no different.

“We understand that unless you’re up for it and have that edge you’ll struggle in any game.

“It’s up to us to go down there and make it highly competitive if we want to get back into the habit of winning.”

Ton gaffer Gus MacPherson hopes to make Cappielow a fortress.

He said: “We’ve got to make that home advantage count. That’s going to be key over the next month or so but Ayr is the most important one for us because it’s the next one.”
