FRASER WILSON FLARES, a player hit with a bottle, another allegedly assaulted by a fan – time to hold clubs accountable?

It’s heading that way and it would be hard to argue against it. Big fines would be the best starting point. Point deductions would make a farce of the league but when it comes to player safety that might well have to be the final resort.

IT was Glasgow 2, Edinburgh 0 in midweek. How will the big two fare against Dundee’s clubs this weekend?

The Old Firm are starting to motor ahead. I can’t see anything other than a Rangers win over Dundee at Ibrox and if United perform like they did against Motherwell then Celtic should have no problem at Tannadice either.

AFTER a dream season, are St Johnstone in danger of being dragged into a relegation battle this term?

Yes and Callum Davidson hinted as much. Some argue they’re not as difficult to break down as last season but it’s up top they are really struggling with just nine goals in 15 league matches. That is relegation form.

There’s no accounting for the moronic element within our game and expecting clubs to take responsibility for the idiot fringe is a tough one. Life bans from games and CCTV use is vital but hammering clubs isn’t a viable option.

Neither of the Dundee clubs look capable of taking points off the Old Firm unless Celtic or Rangers aren’t at it from the start. Both Glasgow clubs are now going through the gears and it’s ominous for the rest of the Premiership.

They have a huge December ahead and a win against Ross County today is a must if they’re to start edging towards safety. The Perth side face Celtic and Rangers in the weeks ahead and with County resurgent they could be in big trouble.

I have felt that should have been the case for some time. The problem is I can’t see clubs voting to bring in strict liability and so nothing will change.

United are capable of getting something from Celtic at home, while Dundee go to Ibrox full of confidence and will push Rangers. I can see United taking a point and Dundee losing narrowly.

They certainly are. St Johnstone aren’t picking up results and Davidson needs to be backed by his club in January to replace the quality he has lost. If not, it will be a long season.
