I couldn’t be less sexy, sweating like mad in my little sauna

Former Hollyoaks actress Davinia Taylor, 44, on her telly watching habits and why she hates chick flicks

- Davinia Taylor

What are your favourite TV shows?

I’m currently watching Money Heist, which is a Spanish show on Netflix. I actually want to rob a bank now. I do get easily influenced. When I was watching Queen Of The South, I decided I wanted to be a cartel boss… Are you a binge-watcher? Yes, I do binge-watch. I sit in my little infrared sauna – which is heaven. I watch two episodes, sweat like mad and drink loads of water. I’ll always have a face mask on as well. My husband [builder, Matthew Leyden] could not be married to a less sexy human being – but I don’t care because it really de-stresses me.

Who’s in control of the remote in your house?

Oh, 100 per cent my husband. There are so many different mechanisms you have got to do to access Netflix, so I often leave it with him.

Is there anything on TV you can’t stand?

Quiz shows – I get emotionally involved. I don’t know if I’m a bit of an empath but I hate it when people lose. I scream at the TV, saying, ‘Oh my God, your whole financial life depends on this question!’ And I just can’t deal with the anxiety.

Is there a film you like so much you could watch it repeatedly?

Well, I’m a mum of four boys, so it’s handy that my favourite film is The Avengers. I like it because it completely isolates you and takes you out of the reality of the world we live in. I’m definitely not a chick flick lover.

How come?

I just don’t like them. I don’t mind Jennifer Aniston as a human being but her films are not my thing. They don’t rock my world at all. I like huge explosions

and time travel – and all that jazz.

Quiz shows cause me too much anxiety – I hate it when people lose
