Danny was like a son, full of energy and full of passion. He can do anything DAVID GINOLA FRENCH STAR PRAISES DANNY MILLER

in there. I was obviously drawn to David and bonded with him very quickly and very naturally.”

Ahead of his victory on Sunday night, Ginola praised Danny’s time in the castle too.

On screen, Ginola said: “Danny was like a son to me and he is stronger than he thinks. He is full of energy, full of passion, he can do anything.”

The pair bonded after they were voted to be camp leader and deputy and shared a bed.

Danny told the camp how he grew up wanting to be a winger like Ginola after watching him on telly.

And the bond is set to continue as Ginola said in his exit interview he would return to England from the South of France next year “to attend Daniel Miller’s wedding”.

Grinning ear to ear, Danny said: “In seriousness, he did say that to me. Because he turned around about a week after I’d invited him in camp and

I think he was talking to Simon, he said, ‘I’ve got a wedding next year’.

“Then he went, ‘It’s on the... Well, I can’t say when it is, but ‘the something of June’. “I went, ‘Whose wedding’s that?’, he said ‘It’s yours’.

“I went ‘Are you going to come?’ and he said ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah. June next year I’ll be there’.

“So the fact he remembered the date, I was like, well, it must mean something to him. So we’ll see what happens.

“He might well be an usher. I might ask him and he is in the mix. But he might say no because he’s in the south of France doing something cool.”He added: “We’ll see.” Yesterday we told how Danny had been reunited with his family in Stockport, Greater Manchester, and is enjoying time with fiancee Steph and seven-week-old son Albert after almost a month apart. After just a week or two at home, Danny

will return to

Wales. He said: “I don’t think you’re actually going to believe it, but we’re going away for Christmas for a week…in Wales.

“Our families will be together in Wales. We can’t wait for that, but it’ll be nowhere near Gwrych Castle anyway, put it that way. It’ll be lovely.”

In the New Year Danny will be looking forward to new projects and TV work. He went on I’m A Celeb having quit his role of Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale which he began in 2008.

He said it felt a risk, but things look promising now.

Danny explained: “I didn’t leave Emmerdale for any other reason than for myself because I wanted to kind of see what else was out there.

“The fact I’ve won is a big bonus, and now I’m open to see the kind of things that get offered to me. Signing up for the show allowed me to have a year off so we will see what happens. I’m not one of the serious actors that’ll only take on drama roles. I’m open to suggestions, driving round France with David in an open top car? That sounds fun! I am not tied down to one thing so lets see what comes next.”

Danny is also keen to thank those who helped him into this happy position. Steph ran a campaign to help him win and the public responded with millions of votes.

Danny added: “I want to say a massive thanks for everyone that voted for us because they’ve obviously spent money or they’ve downloaded an app or whatever [and] that’s ended up me winning the bloody show.

“It’s a big thanks to them because obviously my family appreciates it, especially Steph and myself and Albert.”

He summed up: “Without them, I wouldn’t be in this position. There’s a lot of love for you all.”
