The Ditcheat Maestro can also bag a red-hot novices’ hurdle thanks to SHEARER (2.35). Talented in bumpers, the gelding was chinned by Grosvenor Court on his timber bow at Wincanton.
That is cracking form so he can open his account against some promising rivals.
QUARTZ DU RHEU (1.25) can extend Jonjo O‘Neill’s winning streak in a trappy novices’ chase. The six-year-old continued his rapid rise over fences when cosily dismissing Court Dreaming at Carlisle and looks nicely unexposed over three miles so can get the better of a decent field.
Tom Lacey is also thriving so I’m on SAN AGUSTIN (2.45) in the handicap chase at Leicester. The gelding can strike with a repeat of his creditable second to Fresh New Dawn at Market Rasen.
STORM OF LIGHT (3.15) can breeze to victory for in-form Olly Murphy in the handicap hurdle. The gelding rates a sure-fire improver in this sphere after hammering Fine Casting at Uttoxeter.
FITZROVIA (3.45) can boost Ed De Giles’ impressive strike-rate on the Kempton all-weather.
The six-year-old bounced back when giving Charming Paradise most problems over track and trip and is fairly treated on the all-weather so he can go one better from a kind draw.
AL QAREEM (4.45) can claim a fascinating maiden for ultra-shrewd Karl Burke. The two-year-old ran a blinder when second to the useful Sound Angela on debut over seven furlongs here and can triumph over an extra furlong.
The nursery looks very trappy but I’m siding with Clive Cox’s KEEPING HOPING (5:45). The juvenile put in her best shift yet when just denied by Augmentarium over course and distance and can take full advantage of an inviting opening mark.
