I’m the wedding crasher

Chisora reveals how he’s geared up for Parker rematch by gate-crashing hotel receptions

DEREK CHISORA aims to go from wedding crasher to world title dream wrecker.

Chisora relieved the boredom of being cooped up in a South Yorkshire hotel for his training camp for Saturday’s rematch with Joseph Parker by crashing weddings.

The former world title challenger became a huge hit with the guests at the four-star Wortley Hall Hotel near Sheffield and even got to kiss one of the brides.

Chisora said: “I was staying at this hotel called the Wortley Hall Hotel, that was my domain. They have weddings there all the time.

“They have 140 here a year and I’ve gate-crashed a few of those weddings. It keeps me occupied.

“The wedding guests love it. They say, ‘Oh my God! Come to our wedding, come to our wedding, come cut the cake.’ They love me! Who wouldn’t want a boxer at their wedding?

“I meant to pack a suit before I came up but I thought, ‘You can take me as I am with my tracksuit bottoms.’

“The wildest thing I’ve done is kiss the bride. I’ve kissed the bride, on the cheek!”

Aside from enjoying being the VIP guest at weddings, Chisora has relished working under trainer Dave Coldwell as he seeks to avenge his split decision loss to Parker in May.

Chisora, 37, claims he is still learning from Coldwell, who guided Tony Bellew to cruiserweight world title glory, despite having had 43 fights in his 14 years as a pro.

He added: “Training wise it’s been amazing. There are a lot of fighters in the gym. They always say you don’t finish learning, you learn every day and if you don’t want to learn then you’re a fool.

“I’ve come to Dave to learn more. I went to the gym and told him I don’t come with an ego, I’ll ask you questions like I’m a five-year-old. He understood that and training has gone well.”

Chisora does not intend to leave it to the judges on Saturday and claims he will go for the knockout against Parker, who dreams of becoming a two-time world heavyweight champion.

He said: “You’re going to see so much change. I’m going to go for a stoppage this time. It will be controlled attack.

“I’m looking at riding shots, working when I want to work. I’ll set the same pace as last time and pace won’t be a problem. I’m going to put pressure on him, let’s see if he can handle it.”
