CHEAP THEATRE
You can book very cheap tickets for West End shows for January and half of February after getintolondontheatre. co.uk launched its bargain offers.
There are tickets for as little as a tenner for shows such as The Lion King, Wicked, Les Miserables, Mary Poppins, Frozen and Cinderella.
Priority booking for the New Year Sale opened to Mastercard holders from 10am on November 23, via priceless.com, while everyone else got access to the bargains from December 7 via officiallondontheatre.com.
FREE EVENTS
There are always free events going on for you to take part in. Look at what your local council is offering this month on their website, which you can find through local.gov.uk. Also have a look at websites such as free-events.co.uk, which lists all the free festivals, parades and carnivals that are going on around the UK.
FREE FILMS
Sign up to show filmfirst.com and you could get the chance to see films before they are released for free.
Once you’ve signed up, you will receive emails with a screening code, which you can enter into the website to receive the free tickets. Others such as freecinema.co.uk and fmuk.org.uk offer similar preview screenings so it’s worth signing up to all to get as many freebies as you can.
Also, go to the BBC website to apply for free tickets to your favourite TV show, tour, and live events for new music. You can also try lostintv.com, where you can apply for tickets to other TV programmes, such as Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Get tickets to see big shows, such as Britain’s Got Talent and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, at applausestore.com, while sroaudiences.com has tickets for Graham Norton, Bake Off: An Extra Slice and Taskmaster, to name a few.
EATING OUT
Many restaurants, such as Pizza Express, offer online promotional vouchers, such as two-forone deals on main courses. Some chain restaurants, such as Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Wagamama, also have their own loyalty clubs to save you money. These tend to be free to sign up to on email. Also, check newspapers for vouchers and try sites such as vouchercodes.co.uk, hotukdeals.com and myvouchercodes.co.uk for discounts and deals at restaurants. It can also be worth signing up to daily deal websites, such as Groupon and Wowcher. Another way to save while still having fun going out is to have a lunch date instead of dinner in the evening. Not only is it cheaper but you can also usually get extras, such as soup or salad, with your meal for less than the price of a main dish at dinnertime. Or, if you want to go out at night with friends, suggest you meet for dessert and a coffee rather than the full meal.
GET AWAY WITH IT
Get a free holiday by swapping your home with somebody else for a few weeks. No money is exchanged for the accommodation, you will only need to cover the costs of travel.
Go to a house-swapping site and read other people’s descriptions of their house and facilities and exchange destination. homeexchange.com and lovehomeswap.co.uk are good sites to use. TOMORROW: HOW TO SAVE IN THE HOME
