COMEDIAN Gary Faulds was left “sick to his stomach” after thugs sprayed vile slurs on his van.

The 33-year-old found his white Ford Transit painted with abuse including “I’m a beast” and “p **** ”.

Thugs targeted the vehicle while it was parked outside his home last weekend.

The dad has been left shaken by the attack.

He said: “It was horrific when I saw it. I really just felt sick to my stomach.

“If you don’t like my comedy, just say that.

“But to call someone a beast is the worst thing you could do. My head is wasted with it and I’m so drained.”

The stand-up believes a stranger who dislikes his comedy targeted him as part of a nasty “joke”.

However, he admitted he is living in fear of it happening again.

He added: “I’m absolutely gutted by this.

“I’m a father of five, I’ve no idea why someone would do this.

“I think it’s someone who doesn’t know me. Is it a sick joke?

“Now I’m waking up every morning worried that someone will do something to my van or me again.”

Faulds, who lives in Glasgow’s Springburn, said he relies on his van for work and has removed the graffiti.

He was forced to retrain as a gas engineer when lockdown halted his stage comedy performances.

Police are now investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses.

One neighbour: “It’s shocking that someone would do that out of the blue. The van was gone

the next morning and when it reappeared later there was nothing on it.

“We don’t want sick vandalism in our community and now we all need to be vigilant of who is in our area.”

Another neighbour said: “I couldn’t believe the van when I spotted it. What a nasty thing to do to someone, it’s awful.

“I was so shocked to see it on the street over the weekend.”

Faulds is preparing for a tour which starts in February and ends in May 2022.

Venues include Glasgow’s SECC and Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms.

He sold out Glasgow’s Armadillo in 2019 and was dubbed the new Kevin Bridges.

The coronavirus pandemic forced him to cancel his tour in 2020 and he was forced to declare himself homeless when his income dried up. A police spokesperson said: “Around 9am on Sunday, December 19, officers received a report of vandalism to a vehicle.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
