QUOTE OF THE DAY

-

‘Wow, Dundee United are even worse than I thought. Tony Watt, if you have any sense stay away from the Tannadice clown show’ not to get one of the 500 tickets for Pittodrie but watched the game on Red TV.

“I was shocked to see the majority of the crowd was made up of groups sitting together. I presume they were in a bubble but it was the same at the St Johnstone game and to a lesser extent at Ibrox.

“Is this another example of a directive from the Nicola Sturgeon/Jason Leitch combo?”

On to the football and Gers fans were content to see Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men sign off with a slick 2-0 win over St Mirren.

Alan McGaw, Alloa, said: “Job done for Rangers. Another three points, a clean sheet again and going into the early winter break six points ahead.

“Gio has done well as our new manager and even the players have put in extra shifts on the park.”

Celtic fans were similarly pleased at St Johnstone as Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: “A good three points with a much weakened team. Although they weren’t as good in the second half, the first-half performance was excellent. Tom Rogic is playing the best football of his career and even on a pitch like a ploughed field, he was outstanding yet again.”

But Alfie Mullen, London, said: “I see Celtic got their customary help from the match officials at the weekend. The first goal was a blatant handball incident. It was also interesting to see there were only two minutes of stoppage time added – instead of the usual seven or eight they’ve been getting recently – as Celtic were 3-1 up and didn’t need a goal.”

Hibs inflicted Dundee United’s fifth defeat in a row and Ronnie Swan, Lochee, said: “Wow, they are even worse than I thought. Thank God there is no game at New Year to depress me further.

“Tony Watt, if you’ve any sense, just stay away from the clown show that is Tannadice.”
