FOX DUTY FREE REPEAT

- BY GARRY OWEN

FOX DUTY FREE (1.15) can repeat last year’s win in the MansionBet Handicap at Lingfield.

That success was the climax of a sparkling course-and-distance treble for Ralph Beckett’s charge.

Not as good on Turf, the gelding was a close third to Street Kid after a break at Wolverhampton.

VAXHOLM (11.35) can shade the trappy opening nursery for shrewd handler

John Moore. The thriving two-year-old was only denied a hat-trick by handicap blot Cianciana at Southwell. The gelding was staying-on nicely over a mile so he can resume winning ways up two furlongs.

PROTECTED GUEST (12.10) rates the safest option in the competitive Betway Handicap. George Margarson’s horse ran a stormer when second to C’est No Mour over track and trip. That was a clear revival so the gelding can turn the tables on his old rival at today’s weights.

Conrad Allan knows the time of day so I’m backing LUCKY AVA (12.40) in the sprint. The filly recorded a career best when chinned by Rose Hip on her return over track and trip so she can turn the tables under Martin Dwyer.

Simon Hodgson is flying at present so I’m rowing in with FOLLOW YOUR HEART (1.50). The gelding stayed upwardly mobile for his new yard when routing Cash Machine at Kempton.

IMPERIAL MOUNTAIN (2.25) can rise to the challenge again for John Quinn in the novice race.

Michael Appleby is also thriving right now so I’m siding with COME ON GIRL (2.55).

The filly bounced back when an excellent second to Champagne Supanova at Chelmsford. The grey still lurks on an inviting mark so she can resume winning ways in a weaker contest.

CHAMPAGNE SUPANOVA (3.25) can then follow-up that success for skilled Richard Spencer.

The sprinter put some lacklustre efforts behind him when recording that cosy length triumph.

The gelding remains fairly-treated on his peak form so he can strike again from a decent draw.
