THOMAS TUCHEL will read the riot act to outspoken Romelu Lukaku – and told the £97.5million striker: You are going nowhere.

Lukaku claimed he was unhappy at Chelsea and was thinking of returning to Inter Milan, who he left in the summer to move back to Stamford Bridge.

Sources close to the Belgian hitman insist there is “zero chance” of him leaving Chelsea.

But last night Lukaku said that if Inter had offered him a new deal he would have stayed – and in the summer he thought he would be going to one of three “top level” teams, Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich.

Only when those moves did not happen did he return to Chelsea, who he

Tuchel, whose side face until they came in with Liverpool tomorrow, said an offer. of the prospect of Lukaku “There are three teams leaving in January: “That at the top level: Barcelona, is clearly not my object. Real , Bayern. I thought I was going to one of those. This didn’t happen and I said: there is only one club where I can imagine myself, Chelsea.”

But, he added: “If you are a big and experienced player like Romelu, he should know what kind of keep working. I’ll speak with Tuchel.

“I believe the manager can play me more but I respect his choices. I have to wait for my moment”.

Lukaku has scored in successive games since recovering from an ankle problem and Covid.

And he was Chelsea’s best player in Wednesday night’s draw with Brighton, his first Premier League start since October.

Tuchel insisted: “We have zero problems.

“OK, Romelu gave an interview - so maybe he has a problem. So he needs to speak up. I don’t have one.

“He says he had a chat with me, about how he was not happy with how we used him.

“We have chats with a lot of players, how we want them, where they should be in certain spaces. This is a super-normal chat.

“Now it seems we benched him because other players suited our style of playing better?

“But Romelu played when he came, then got injured and caught Covid, and when he came back, he played with no training at Aston Villa and no training against Brighton. That’s why I’m surprised.

“I don’t like it, because it brings noise we don’t need. It is not helpful.

“How do we get the best out of Romelu? Training, training, playing. Training, playing, training, sleeping, eating good, training, playing, train, play – and don’t give interviews.”
