New deal is Well earned for Graham at Fir Park
MOTHERWELL boss Graham Alexander has signed a new contract until the summer of 2025.
The former Scotland international was handed the Fir Park gig as Stephen Robinson’s successor this time last year, taking Chris Lucketti as his assistant.
He had just left Salford City and has been a big success with the Steelmen, who will return from the winter break a week today fourth in the Premiership.
He said: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract here at Motherwell and continue the progress we have all made in the last 12 months.
“Chris and I have received nothing but great support from everyone connected with the club, which has certainly helped us concentrate on our work.
“I have a brilliant relationship with the people I work with every day and the environment we’re allowed to develop here to produce results is particularly rewarding.
“We know we have much more to achieve here.”
Well have taken 59 points in the calendar year under Alexander, their third highest tally achieved while in the top flight.
Alexander, who has scooped three manager of the month awards, has a win rate of 47.8 per cent and has averaged 1.55 points per game.
Fir Park chairman Jim McMahon has vowed that he and his board will continue to give the 50-year-old every support.
He said: “We have been absolutely delighted with Graham’s contribution since joining our club 12 months ago and we are excited about what he is trying to build with us.
“The board will continue to back him to help us achieve our goals both on and off the pitch.”
