Boyle set to stay put at Easter Road

-

but that has been knocked back by Easter Road chairman Ron Gordon.

Al-Faisaly have now opened talks with out-ofcontract Brazilian winger Rossi. It looks to have closed the door on a lifechanging contract worth up to £1.5 million-a-year for Boyle.

It was made clear from when Record Sport revealed Al-Faisaly’s opening bid of £500,000 last month that Hibs wouldn’t let Boyle go for less than their £3m asking price.

It now looks unlikely a deal will be struck for the Socceroo, although Al-Faisaly have tabled a number of final bids and then returned to the table.

Hibs manager Shaun Maloney will be hoping their interest is now dead.

He would be the main benefactor as it looks like he will have his star man, along with all his new signings, for the second half of the season.

The new Hibs boss has already been active ahead of the Prem restart and Monday’s kick-off with his former club at Celtic Park.

New signing Ewan Henderson won’t be eligible for that game against his parent club but Norwegian striker Elias Melkersen could make his debut.

US winger Chris Mueller, signed by previous boss Jack Ross, is also eligible now the window is open.

Fellow loanees Harry Clarke and Rocky Bushiri could also make their bows.

Maloney is still looking to add to the squad.

Hibs have been linked with St Patrick’s Athletic winger Darragh Burns.

There’s still a possibility of outgoings, with KV Oostende keen to land Ryan Porteous and St Johnstone are keen on Melker Hallberg. Ross County, Motherwell and St Mirren are all interested in Alex Gogic.
