A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with the murder of Samuel Hamilton.

The 17-year-old, who can’t be named for legal reasons, appeared on petition before a judge at Hamilton Sheriff Court yesterday.

In the hearing, the teen was charged with murdering the 56-year-old Bellshill man.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody.

The case was committed for further examination and is expected to call again within the next eight days.

Samuel was found injured at his home at 11.30pm on May 18. Police were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Richard Wotherspoon, 32, was also charged with Samuel’s murder when he appeared in private at the court on Monday, May 23.

He made no plea and was remanded in custody.

BORIS Johnson was under fresh pressure to “come clean” over claims wife Carrie hosted a second lockdown party in their Downing Street flat.

Two more Tory MPs, including a former attorney general, have called on the Prime Minister to quit over Partygate.

No10 hopes announcing crown imprints on pint glasses to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and plans to reintroduce imperial measurements will help distract voters.

But the PM’s leadership could be plunged into renewed peril next month with two by-elections and a probe led by the Privileges Committee into whether he lied to MPs.

Downing Street yesterday refused to deny weekend reports that an aide claimed to have told civil servant Sue Gray’s probe they had messages showing Carrie met “several” male friends in the flat on June 19, 2020 – on her husband’s 56th birthday.

Earlier, Johnson had attended his own surprise birthday bash in the Cabinet room.

A No10 spokesman said Gray had made clear she would look at other “credible” allegations of rules having been breached.

A spokeswoman for the PM’s wife said: “Sue Gray was aware of these exchanges. Staff were given ample opportunity to present evidence and all relevant information was passed to the Metropolitan Police.”

Labour’s deputy leader Angela Rayner said: “It appears No10 has stopped denying another lockdown- breaking secret gathering took place in the Downing Street flat.”

She said it raised questions about why the event was not probed.

Culture Minister Chris Philp tried to quell calls for a fresh inquiry, saying: “This has probably been the most… thoroughly investigated set of incidents in recent times.”

Former attorney general Jeremy Wright QC joined calls for the PM to resign.

He accused him of being “negligent”, adding: “I fear these events have done lasting damage to the reputation not just of this Government but to the authority of government.” Carshalton and Wallington MP Elliot Colburn also demandedde the PM quit. And Tory MP Andrew Bridgen confirmed he had once again submitted a letter of no confidence.

If Sir GraGraham Brady, the chairman of the ToTories’ 1922 Committee, receives 54 letters, he must trigger a vote that cocould oust Johnson.

Tory MP NNickie Aiken suggested the PM should ttrigger a confidence vote

himself to end the “speculation”.

I fear these events have done lasting damage to not just the Government JEREMY WRIGHT QC ON WHY HE WANTS PM TO GO
