TOP-DRAWER DUBOIS HAS NEW HITLIST

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

DANIEL DUBOIS wants Dillian Whyte or Joseph Parker next while he waits for a shot at the full WBA heavyweight title.

Dubois stopped Trevor Bryan in four rounds to claim the secondary version of the WBA crown in Miami and make himself mandatory for Oleksandr Usyk’s belt.

He’ll have to bide his time – Usyk’s rematch with Anthony Joshua is in August and Joe Joyce is ahead of him in the queue as the WBO’s mandatory challenger.

‘Dynamite’ intends to keep busy and would love a big fight back in the UK against former world title challenger Whyte or ex-WBO king Parker.

Dubois said: “I’m just so happy to have got this world title. I’m ready for whoever is next.

“Now we can make some massive fights in the future.

“When you win the world title they say you become next level so names like Whyte and Parker are all on my hitlist. I will fight whoever Frank Warren puts me in with.

“It’s been amazing. Coming out here and winning a world title is what I dreamed of as a little kid, now it’s finally happened. Bring ‘em all on, now I’m ready. This will set me up, I’m the instant mandatory from this.”

Trainer Shane McGuigan feels Dubois has taken the next step up and said: “He has this belt, it’s going to draw him the big names.

“It’s only right for him to have these massive fights, these massive moments.”

Bryan had no response in the fourth when Dubois knocked him into the ropes with a left hook before finishing him one minute and 58 seconds into the round with another massive left hook and right hand to leave him face down on the canvas.

The Greenwich fighter added: “He brought out something in me, he brought out a wicked left hand! It was a punchperfect ending.”

● Richard Riakporhe stopped Fabio Turchi in two rounds in their IBF cruiserweight eliminator at Wembley Arena.

The South Londoner, now mandatory for Mairis Briedis’ IBF crown, joked he has another nickname besides Midnight Train and said: “I’m building a reputation now. I’m the new Body Snatcher.”
