New boys can take a bow in sun

- BY FRASER WILSON

HIBS’ first run-out of preseason gave Lee Johnson a glimpse of his new signings.

Record Sport were in the Algarve rated the seven who made their debuts in the 2-0 win over Hartlepool.

DAVID MARSHALL: Quiet afternoon in terms of action but the 37-year-old keeper was anything but quiet as he kept his backline on their toes.

LEWIS MILLER: Aussie full-back played first half and looks a real competitor. Introduced himself to the fans with a thunderous tackle on David Ferguson after seven minutes and built on that with a powerful performance up and down the right flank.

KYLE McCLELLAND: Former Rangers kid showed a maturity beyond his 20 years at the centre of defence as he organised and bossed those around him. A decent range of passing as he made his case to be a regular starter.

NOHAN KENNEH: Early slip almost allowed Hartlepool in but recovered to put in a decent performance. The former Leeds midfielder looks to like a tackle and provided good cover for his backline.

JAIR TAVARES: Lightning quick winger looked eager to impress. Combined well with Lewis Stevenson on the overlap several times and looks confident.

ELIE YOUAN: On-loan striker showed a decent ability to run at defenders. Looks strong but also showed a good turn of pace.

AIDEN McGEADY: Winger looks in good shape and combined well with Josh Doig on the left. A danger with crosses and set-pieces.

First 45: Marshall, Miller, Bushiri, McLelland, Stevenson, Kenneh, Doyles-Hayes, Hauge, Henderson, Tavares, Youan.

Second 45: Dabrowski, Cadden, Porteous, Brydon, Doig, Delferriere, Newell, Campbell, Melkersen, McGeady, Doidge.
