Joe: It’ll be Ney bother to bring in Brazil mate

-

NEYMAR has been made Newcastle’s top transfer target – by pal Joelinton.

The PSG superstar is reportedly up for sale with the French giants open to a loan if it means getting rid of his eye-watering £850,000-a-week wages.

Newcastle spent £37m this week on Lille defender Sven Botman with Matt Targett and Nicky Pope also joining the Saudi-funded rebuild at St James’ Park.

But Joelinton believes he and fellow Brazilian Bruno Guimaraes can persuade national skipper Neymar to make an incredible move to join them on Tyneside

Joelinton said: “We can get him a spot in any team. This is the invitation: ‘Ney, if you are listening to this you can come to Newcastle.’

“I hope to call him and say the No.10 shirt is waiting. I’ll send a message to Bruno, he has his contact information and can send him a message inviting him.”

●Everton last night avoided a Premier League sanction by selling talisman Richarlison to Tottenham in a cut-price £60m deal.

The Toffees registered an agreement to sell with just minutes to spare, as they tried to avoid penalties that included points deduction.

The club were seriously threatened under the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

Under those rules, clubs are not allowed to run more than £110m losses over a three-year rolling period.

● Dundee have handed Danny Devine a trial with the 24-year-old a free agent after leaving Carlisle.

● Cove have signed former Nottingham Forest striker Gerry McDonagh on a one-year deal.

He said: “It’s a bit of an adventure because I’ve never played in Scotland.”

● Cristiano Ronaldo has told Manchester United team-mates he is staying.

The 37-year-old has had Europe’s elite sniffing but Portugal and Old Trafford pal Bruno Fernandes said: “I spoke to him weeks ago so expect to meet Cristiano for pre-season.”
