Hi, Paul! what are you currently watching on television? sue [Paul’s wife] and I keep up with the soaps, we like to watch Coronation street, EastEnders and Casualty all the time. We had been watching Love Island: All stars too. Have you been a fan of soaps since they began? Are you saying I’m old? But yes, I’ve watched Coronation street since the first episode which was about 1960 and I’ve watched EastEnders since the 80s. The thing is with the soaps, I can go away working for two or three weeks, come back and I don’t have to catch up with them. Are you a binge-watcher when it comes to watching television shows? I usually am, unless we’ve got guests round or family – then they don’t let me put the telly on. But there’s nothing to focus on! It’s like the old days of sitting around a fire, nowadays, you sit around the TV. what other show would you love to be a part of? There are certain things I like about I’m A Celebrity… Get Me out of Here! that I’d love to do. But I’d hate to be eating stuff and drinking bugs – I can’t do that. Big Brother, I always thought that would be fun to be in. But then I wouldn’t know who I’d be going in with. I did The real Marigold Hotel in 2019, that was brilliant. Barry and I won Celebrity Coach Trip, I was on Celebrity MasterChef and now I’m on The Madame Blanc mysteries too. Most people recognise you from chuckleVision which you starred in with your brother, Barry, do people still ask you to do your catchphrases? Yes! It was on for 23 years, with repeats – so Chuckle Vision was on from 1987 to 2010 or so. That’s two or three generations of people – everybody wants a photo but I love it when people stop and recognise me. Do you have fond memories? Well, we had the same crew for about 15 years and obviously working with my brother – I miss those days. We made each other laugh on stage, we had fun. can you tell us about celebrity Help! My House is Haunted? The team got in touch to find out what’s in my house. We found a very small handprint in the downstairs toilet and we hadn’t had any kids in during the 18 months of being in our house. It was brilliant to have the experts in, following them around, seeing stuff – it makes you jump. watch Paul chuckle on celebrity Help! My House is Haunted on discovery+
