Lad has game plan to help poorly pal

CAM RAISES FUNDS TO BUY GIFT FOR MORGAN

-

Express Newspapers Offer FDS9606 A BOY traded in more than 100 video games and DVDs to buy his poorly pal an electronic tablet while he was in hospital.

Cameron Wilson, eight, came up with the idea to keep in touch with brave Morgan Bishop.

Morgan has chronic eczema, asthma, food allergies and a life-threatening kidney condition.

He only ever sleeps for a few hours at a time because the need to itch wakes him up.

After Morgan was taken into hospital on his sixth birthday, Cameron collected his own games and traded them in for a tablet at secondhand goods chain CEX.

Cameron’s mum Hayley Wilson, 33, said: “Morgan and Cameron would sit together at lunch at school and became friends.

“But then Morgan was off school for a couple of weeks. I was talking to Cameron about the reasons why and he said it would be nice to talk to Morgan while he was in hospital.

“We’d been talking about a new shop where you can trade DVDs and games and Cameron thought of Morgan straight away. We went through the collection and found 111 DVDs and 10 Wii games.”

Hayley, of Tadworth, Surrey, said: “We got £90 and I put in the rest to buy the tablet. The manager at CEX in Epsom gave us a 10% discount too, which was nice. I’m really proud of Cameron. We’re SAM WILLIAMS not the wealthiest family and he didn’t think of himself – only Morgan.” Morgan’s mum Dana Bishop, 37, said he uses the tablet to play games when he is in hospital. She said: “It was such a selfless thing to do, so kind for a boy so young. Cameron is just so thoughtful.” Morgan hit the headlines last year after it was revealed he had pleaded to be allowed to die to end his suffering. He developed food allergies at the age of one. He is allergic to eggs, nuts, dairy, soya, bananas, avocado and a lot of environmental allergens. Morgan also has chronic eczema and asthma. At 15 months he was diagnosed with FSGS nephrotic syndrome, a lifethreatening kidney condition. The Bishop family tried every treatment available on the NHS, including a form of chemotherapy. They have twice travelled to the world-renowned Avene Hydrotherapy Centre in southern France for thermal spring water treatment. Dana and her husband, Paul, 43, hope to move out of their small flat and into a house to help them cope with Morgan’s condition. Dana added: “We own our flat but can’t make any adaptations. “A new house would be life changing.” To help, go to crowdfunding.justgiving. com/ahouseformorgan.
