It’s boom time for psychics

ISOBEL DICKINSON Chief Reporter A BORIS Johnson lookalike fears he could be attacked after the bumbling politician led Britain to Brexit.

Drew Galdron has been working as the Tory’s double since 2007.

Blond Boris headed up the campaign to quit the European Union.

He then stunned supporters on Thursday when he sensationally ruled himself out of the Tory leadership race.

Doppelganger Drew, 33, said: “In the past few weeks I’ve become very concerned about drawing attention to myself.

“I’m honestly worried to leave the house as I’m scared of what people could do.

“I have to think twice every time I want to go out as I can’t always expect the public to be respectful.

“I’m used to people yelling things at me and trying to take pictures but at the minute I’m worried something more serious could happen.

“I have a history of mental illness and agoraphobia and sadly recent events have made it worse.”

Drew, who is managed by Susan Scott lookalikes, decided to become a Boris impersonator in 2007 – just as the politician was gearing up to run for London mayor.

The lookalike, who also has a street act called Boris Blowing Bubbles which he performs around London, said: “He wasn’t well known then but when he ran for Mayor people started saying how much we looked alike and I just sort of fell into it.

“The similarities stop at our looks though. I like his personality, but I don’t agree with his politics.

“People joke around and ask if I’m his love child. I say, ‘No, I’m his conscience.’

“I couldn’t believe it when he said he wouldn’t run for Tory leader.

“If he had it would have been a great little money earner for me.

“It is my only job at the moment so of course I want to make money. But at the same time there was a sense of relief.”

Drew said he has had abuse in the past, ISOBEL DICKINSON FORTUNE tellers have seen business booming as Brits flock to them for answers about Brexit.

Psychics have been inundated with visits from frantic voters fearing the country could be plunged into recession.

Many have seen bookings double since the Referendum.

Clairvoyant Samantha Rawlinson, 29, said: “People are really scared. It’s a time when they turn to the spirit world to give them answers about what the future holds. “It’s natural for people to be fearful of the future when there is so much scaremongering going on about what Brexit means for Britain.

“I usually have about ten or so requests a day for readings on my Facebook page, but since the vote they have doubled.”

Samantha, who does consultations via Facebook, charges £30 for a reading that lasts from 40 minutes to an hour. But she said she expects her business to soar in the coming months as people turn to tarot in times of uncertainty.

Samantha said she has seen a shift from clients asking about their love lives to wanting to know about their businesses and whether their homes and jobs are safe.

She said: “People are scared and they feel that readings give them reassurance from the spirit world.

“They worry they can’t stand alone and businesses will go into decline.” Samantha claims she predicted Britain would leave the EU and that PM David Cameron would quit earlier this year.

She recorded a video on YouTube in March showing her reading cards for Cameron.

In it she predicted he would be forced to resign and a huge event would plunge the country into turmoil.

Samantha believes that Home Secretary Theresa May, 59, will be the next prime minister.

She said: “I feel like she is so much more compassionate and cares about ordinary people.”
