RiRi gets killer role
POP babe Rihanna has landed a killer role in a US prime time TV show – a reworking of the cult movie Psycho.
The star will have to tackle the weird world of Norman Bates’ hotel in the upcoming fifth season of Bates Motel.
Rihanna, 28, will play Marion Crane – the role made famous by Janet Leigh in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 film Psycho.
Marion meets her demise after Norman – dressed as his mother, Norma – stabs her in a shower scene that has become one of the most famous in film history.
Her deal was announced at Comic-Con in California. “I am about to check into the Bates Motel soon,” RiRi said in a video.
“Guess what else? Guess who’s playing Marion! Yes, so all you Comic-Con fans, all you Bates Motel fans, stay tuned!”
Londoner Freddie Highmore plays Norman in the hit series.
