FOOTBALL superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is to have an international airport named after him.

Santa Catarina Airport near Funchal on the player’s home island of Madeira is changing its name to Cristiano Ronaldo Airport.

Regional government president Miguel Albuquerque said the renaming was “a tribute” to the Real Madrid forward.

It comes after Ronnie, 31, helped Portugal to Euro 2016 glory in France earlier this month.
