A RELAY GOOD SHOW

-

GREAT BRITAIN’S men’s 4x100m team made a statement of intent ahead of the Olympics by running the fastest time in the world this year of 37.78s.

The quartet of James Dasaolu, Adam Gemili, James Ellington and Chijindu Ujah were just 0.05secs off the 17-year-old British record, while the squad’s strength in depth was shown by the fact Britain’s B team of Richard Kilty, Harry AikinesAryeetey, Danny Talbot and Ojie Edoburun, came home just 0.03secs behind in second.

This latest success followed the team’s gold medal at the recent European Champs in Amsterdam, raising hopes that the days of baton blunders and infighting are over – sending them to Rio in the best possible frame of mind.
