Fantastic Farah at his peak
MO FARAH sent out a chilling warning to his big Kenyan Olympic rivals when he roared: “I’m in the shape of my life.”
Britain’s supreme long distance champion claimed it was all systems go for Rio as he took giant strides towards the dream of repeating his magical London 2012 double track triumph.
Farah, 33 (right) back on the Olympic Stadium stage where he thrilled us all four years ago, was too hot for a strong Anniversary Games field as he ran 12mins 59.29secs to win the 5000m.
It was a season’s best for the event and Farah showed outstanding speed, stamina and strength.
He aims to be the first British athlete to win three individual Olympic golds.
He said: “I’ve never been in better shape going into an Olympics. Rio is just around the corner now and I’m ready and very excited about what I can do there.”
