MAN United’s £89million man Paul Pogba is readjusting to northern life by scoffing fish and chips.

The France international – sold by the Red Devils four years ago for just £1.5million – is desperate to be accepted in the city.

So he sampled a £14 room service fish supper at the swanky Lowry Hotel, where he is staying until he finds a house.

Pogba, who signed from Italian side Juventus, now wants to try the five-star establishment’s £22.50 afternoon tea as well as a Sunday roast.

The 23-year-old has also told United staff he plans to visit art galleries, museums and churches so he can immerse himself in Manchester culture.

A source at Old Trafford said: “He is keen to become a part of the city and not just lock himself away and turn up to train and play.

“He wants to understand the city and what makes its people tick. He’s already a fan of fish and chips but the manager needn’t worry, he’s not eating fish suppers every day.

“Before leaving Italy, Paul was saying his goodbyes and joked he was going to give English food one more chance even though he had been spoiled by the cuisine in Turin.

“His mates burst out laughing when he said he would start with a traditional Sunday roast dinner. He had to explain to them what it was.”

The midfielder has also enjoyed food from renowned Manchester Chinese restaurant Wings.

He celebrated his world record transfer by ordering a takeaway, and his meal was delivered by the city-centre eaterie’s owner, who dropped it off at the hotel.
