Rapper is inspired by Mary
RAPPER Snoop Dogg says he’s hooked on cosy telly hit The Great British Bake Off.
The US star – known for getting “baked” on cannabis – is a massive Mary Berry fan and calls her his “homegirl”.
In an exclusive chat, Snoop told us: “Bake Off is one of the greatest shows on TV. I guess people might be a little shocked to hear me say that but people are seeing a different side to me these days.
“You know, I have been known to do a little baking in my time. I guess you could say my speciality was brownies, just maybe not the kind Mary Berry is used to.”
Snoop is one of music’s most controversial stars.
Yet last week it was announced he is set to front a cookery show on US telly alongside domestic goddess Martha Stewart.
He has been watching old episodes of Bake Off to help him prepare for his role.
Snoop said: “Nobody expected me to co-host a cookery show, but that is exactly what I am going to be doing.
“And I have been watching Bake Off for inspiration.”
Snoop is a big fan of Mary and fellow judge Paul Hollywood. He said: “Those guys kill it every season. You want to learn from the best.
“The guy is cool but it’s all about my homegirl Mary. You know she is the boss.
“I would love to meet up with her and get some tips.”
The seventh series of Bake Off begins on Wednesday at 8pm on BBC One.
