COLLABRO FORCED TO LOOK ELSEWHERE

-

BRITAIN’S Got Talent stars Collabro have been dropped by Simon Cowell’s record label Syco. The popular 2014 champs were axed despite their two previous albums being big hits – peaking at No.1 and No.2 in the charts. It appears the label is having a clear out ahead of this year’s X Factor as BGT finalists Jack Pack have also been given the boot. Collabro’s axe comes as a big surprise as the musical theatre boyband has built up a solid fan base since winning the talent show.

The group faced an uncertain future when Richard Hadfield quit earlier this year.

But with two hit albums, two sold-out tours and a big fan base in the US and Japan, the remaining four lads won’t be without a deal for long.

I’m told band members Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Thomas Redgrave and Matt Pagan are already in discussions with various labels within the Sony umbrella.

My source said: “The boys are obviously gutted not to be with Syco any longer, especially as they’ve achieved great success together. “But they are excited about the future. They are already in talks with a few labels and have plans to do more tours in Japan, Canada and America.” I’m told Jack Pack are also in talks with a major label about recording a second album. Their self-titled first record reached No.8 last September. As a big fan of both bands, personally and professionally, I look forward to hearing more positive news soon.
