Ford’s cyber-cab
FORD say they will have mass market autonomous cars on the streets in just five years.
Yep, driverless cars on our roads for ride-sharing or ride-hailing.
Think smelly private hire car without the beaded steering wheel cover and a driver who shifts into fifth gear so early it makes the dashboard judder.
This is all well and good but I hope the software they use is better than their current SYNC voice recognition system.
It’s one thing when today’s Ford Focus asks you what you want and you say “radio” but the car offers you heating controls. With destinations and directions it could all be a lot more expensive. Car: “Say a command” Passenger: “The George and Dragon public house and make it snappy.”
Car: “Driving slowly to Inverness via Brighton.”
