FOR TOM AS HIS MEDAL HOPES TAKE A NOSEDIVE DALEY’S TEARS FOR SOUVENIRS
TOM DALEY’S bid for Olympic gold sank in bitter disappointment in the semi-finals of the 10 metres platform diving event.
Daley, 22, looked well placed to improve on his London 2012 bronze after placing first in Friday’s preliminary round.
But he endured a poor first three rounds of the semi-final and could not make up the deficit on his rivals.
He needed to finish in the top 12 to make the final but suffered the indignity of finishing last of the 18 competitors.
Daley (right) said: “I don’t really know what went wrong today. I’ve no idea.
“I’ve been feeling so good. I’m in the shape of my life, moving better than I’ve ever moved before and Friday showed that.
“It’s just heartbreaking to think that four years of hard work and effort – it’s tough to accept.”
Daley insists he will carry on until Tokyo 2020. Moisturematic Small 350ml Moisturematic Large 750ml £6.79 £8.49 £2.95* Order total £ £
