PAUL HETHERINGTON TALKS are underway to speed up the departure of Bastian Schweinsteiger from Manchester United.

The former Germany captain’s representatives will hold discussions with the Red Devils this week.

They are trying to agree a severance package as his remaining contract at Old Trafford is worth £17million.

It is believed United will take a cut-price £2m fee for the midfielder.

Schweinsteiger, 32, has been told by new United boss Jose Mourinho that he is not in his plans.
